QLZH Foundation Brings Clean Water to Families in Guatemala

 January 2025

How can a simple donation transform lives and bring hope to an entire community?  €1,000 donated by the QLZH Foundation to Guatemalta purchased enough filters to bring safe drinking water to the most vulnerable villages in Santo Tomas de Castilla in Guatemala.

Access to clean water is a pressing issue in these areas. Santo Tomas de Castilla is home to over 20,000 residents, with most of them centred around the bustling port where families live in overcrowded and precarious conditions. In the rural area, extreme poverty defines daily life for the Q’eqchis Mayan residents who rely on subsistence farming. Many live in makeshift homes without access to health facilities, facing significant challenges in meeting basic needs.

The filters will provide these families with safe drinking water, improving health, reducing medical costs, and enabling better quality of life.

This partnership between the QLZH Foundation and Guatemalta embodies shared values of solidarity, sustainability, and social justice. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of these families, reinforcing our commitment to empowering communities worldwide.
